We've somehow managed to make a lot of progress in the baby's room despite the fact that summer always feels slammed with so many other scheduling needs. We removed carpet and leftover closet elements on move-in day and over the past month and a half we've learned the art of skim coating, wallpapering, trimming + caulking, and so much more...all within these four little walls. Thank you second trimester for being oh-so sweet to me this far!
This room has truly been a labor of love.
We still have quite a bit to do before adding all those little nursery details that I cannot stop thinking about, but next up on the list is carpet installation and building out the closet! I've been a long time admirer of Ikea's Pax Wardrobe System and all the amazing ways you can customize and configure to fit your specific needs, not to mention the price is seriously unbeatable. However, the demand is so high for these guys right now that the majority of the pieces I'm needing are staying out of stock. Figures! So, I've been on the hunt for a similar product comparable in price and actually found this Closetmaid system while killing time at my local Lowes! It offers similar drawer and shelving configurations to Ikea's Pax, and the drawer fronts already come in a nice and clean shaker style front. We're planning on using this system and making a few exciting modifications to make it look more built-in. More to come on that soon!
Here's a little sneak peak of the carpet we selected!
